We have made a commitment to our pets’ health which is fantastic. What’s not so fantastic is the strain it can put on our budgets. As we make healthier and more appropriate choices for our pets, products get more expensive. In addition, the price of everything related to owning and caring for pets, is going up. This time of year in particular, we in the industry cringe as we watch the price change reports roll in. Of course this means we have to increase the price we sell the product for! Rarely do we see a price decrease.
But wait! There is relief!
Most if not all of the foods we sell, offer a Frequent Buyer program. Typically you buy a certain number of units and get a unit free. For the most part it involves, cutting off a UPC code, saving your receipt and putting it an envelope. Other brands simply trust us as the retailer, to record your purchases, date and initial. (These programs originate from the manufacturer of the product) Pretty small time commitment considering a typical 26# bag of our premium food is over $50, and a 3# bag of raw is$20 or more. Who doesn’t like a free $20 or $50 bill?!
In addition to the Frequent Buyer, we offer an in store Loyalty program, Belly Rewards. These discounts are in-store and through The Bark Market. For each visit to our store, make a minimum purchase and earn 5 points. For every 4th visit, with 20 points in our account,you can take 5% anything in the store, or keep saving to 50 points where you can take 10% off. The program lets you know how close you are to your rewards so you can plan when and how to spend the discount. Belly Rewards have been a huge success. It means that literally, everything in the store, is on sale everyday when you have points to spend. Belly is a national program with member businesses of all types. Once you have a belly card, you can scan it anywhere that has a Belly Pad. We also keep our Belly members informed of events and specials through Belly blasts.
