Beginning April 7th Dr. Mulvihill will be offering Acupuncture services to clients at Creature Comforts in Burlington. Below is a short biography of Dr. Shawn.
Dr. Shawn Mulvihill grew up in Northwest Indiana in Portage where he attended high school. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Valparaiso University in nearby Valparaiso. His enjoyment of the outdoor and the mountains, in particular, led him to Denver, Colorado, where he worked at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center as a research assistant in Neurophysiology and then in clinical Rheumatology. His veterinary career began as a student at the Colorado State University Professional Veterinary program. Dr. Mulvihill graduated in 1988 and moved back to the Midwest, taking a position at a small animal practice in Valparaiso, Indiana. In 1998, he and his family moved to Wisconsin where he practiced veterinary holistic medicine at the Healing Oasis Veterinary Hospital until December of last year. Dr. Mulvihill is certified in Veterinary Chinese Herbology from The Healing Oasis Wellness Center and in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture from Colorado State University. He has special interests in nutritional therapy, weight and pain management, alternative cancer therapies, and geriatric and home hospice care.
